Services have new restrictions and guidelines to start back up
Lake Mary, Fla (May 13, 2020) – For Seminole County teenagers ready to start driving on their own, the milestone event in their lives can now take place on Monday.
Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg will be opening all services back up starting on Monday, including road tests and permits for concealed weapons.
“We’re using a system developed to ensure our staff do not have to be in a car with new drivers,” Greenberg says. “We wanted this to keep everyone safe and it is impressive how they delivered on this.”
It all comes down to having the ability to monitor the road tests from the sidewalk. The examiner will provide a hands-free device to give instructions to the driver.
Under these new regulations, the new driver must have a licensed driver over 21 years old in the passenger seat during the test.
For concealed weapons permits, all parties will wear facial coverings during the process.
“We have taken remarkable steps to ensure people are safe, both our employees and our customers,” Greenberg says. “It’s been important to me to keep our operations running during this pandemic and to get our offices open as quickly as possible when it was safe to do so.”
Both services will be by appointment only, with road tests available only at the Casselberry location. Visit SeminoleCounty.tax to start the process.
In addition, the final Seminole County Tax Collector’s office was opened on Monday when the Seminole County Administration building was opened to the public.
