SANFORD, Florida, December 17, 2021 – Michael (Mike) McKee has been named Executive Director of Meals on Wheels, Etc. in Seminole County.
Mike McKee has served numerous local charities in various roles for the last twenty-five years, and is well known for his passion for non-profit work. Most recently, he served pro bono as Interim Executive Director of Jewish Family Services of Greater Orlando from Dec. 2018 – July 2019. McKee is also an entrepreneur who established his own wealth management firm and authored the book Big Income – Creating Wealth with Covered Calls, but it was ultimately his love for helping those in need that drew him back to the non-profit world.
“Aging adults are one of the primary populations experiencing unmet needs for food security in Seminole County, especially as the pandemic continues,” McKee said. “I see great potential to expand our reach and ensure the needs of those most vulnerable are met. Meals on Wheels, Etc. is clearly a leader in this regard. I’ve been so impressed with the high quality and breadth of services provided.”
“We are excited to welcome Mike as the new Executive Director,” said Vicky Santamaria, Meals on Wheels, Etc. Board Chair. “With his past work in the non-profit world, his deep connections in our community and entrepreneurial spirit, we know he will help lead and grow the agency to meet the considerable and changing needs of seniors in Seminole county.”
“This is both an important and transformative time for the agency; I’m honored to have the opportunity to provide leadership and give back to our local community,” McKee continued.
Sherry Fincher, current Executive Director, will be retiring from Meals on Wheels, Etc. at the end of this year, closing out a career of more than thirty years successfully leading the agency.
McKee holds both a degree in economics and an M.B.A. from Rollins College. He lives in Maitland, FL with his wife, Sarah, and their two sons.
