At the September 21, 2020, City Commission Meeting, the Longwood City Commission presented Michael Kryger, Owner and Independent Agent of Pegasus Insurance Agency located at 740 Florida Central Parkway, the Business Person of the Month Award for September 2020.
Michael has been a Longwood resident since the age of 5! He is a graduate of Lake Mary High School and the University of Central Florida where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a Minor in Sociology.
Many in the Chamber know Michael as their insurance go-to, but did you know that he has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years before opening his own agency? He started as an Adjuster investigating claims, worked in Legal settling Bodily Injury Liability Claims with Attorneys, and then became a Licensed Agent where he achieved his life-long dream of opening up his own business, Pegasus Insurance Agency.
Michael is involved in the community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors for the University of Central Florida Alumni – Seminole County Chapter, and the Executive Council for Leadership Seminole. He also served on the City of Longwood Business Tax Receipt Study Committee earlier this year and volunteers for several other volunteer positions within Seminole County’s Chamber of Commerce.
In November, Michael will be rappelling down 8 stories (102 feet) down the International Motor Sports Building at One Daytona Building for a NASCAR Foundation and Easter Seals Fundraising Event where he had to raise $1,000 to get the spot.
Michael was awarded September Business Person of the Month by none other than Longwood City Commissioner and Seminole County Chamber Vice President Ben Paris. “It’s truly an honor to be awarded with this recognition in the fine city of Longwood! I can’t imagine any other city or county to have my business in. Pegasus Insurance Agency is a true family-owned business in the heart of Longwood, and we are so grateful to receive this award!”
