Seminole County FL - APRIL 29 COVID 19 UPDATE

SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL (April 29, 2020)- Seminole County Office of Emergency Management has been under a Local State of Emergency (LSE) since March 2, 2020, and continues to monitor COVID-19. There are currently 373 confirmed cases in Seminole County, 365 of which are Seminole County residents; there have been eight COVID-19 deaths in the County. The County’s confirmed cases range from age one to 100. Updates can be found at prepareseminole.org and on the County’s social media channels.

POTENTIAL 4:30PM PRESS CONFERENCE
Seminole County is planning a tentative 4:30 p.m. press conference today, at the Public Safety Building. A final decision will be made by 3:30 p.m.; please call 407-665-0000 for confirmation.

ALTAMONTE MALL DRIVE THRU TEST SITE EXTENDED TO MAY 9
Allied Health, a non-profit provider, in partnership with Seminole County and the City of Altamonte Springs, is offering a Drive Thru Test Site at Altamonte Mall Monday through Saturday, now until May 9, with up to 250 tests per day.

Originally, the site was scheduled to operate until May 2; based on community need, Allied Health will continue operations for an additional week.

Patients must make a reservation in order to be tested. Testing “fast passes” are offered for patients making reservations, allowing the patient to arrive anytime during their “fast past” hour window.

The drive thru will be located on the first floor of the parking garage adjacent to the AMC Theater. Patients should enter at Essex Avenue/Mall Drive from East Altamonte Drive.

There is no charge for this service, regardless of insurance status. Insured patients should bring their insurance card so that Allied Health may reconcile costs with insurance providers.

  • Requirements: Must have identification, bring insurance card if insured; accepting all patients regardless of insurance status (uninsured, underinsured and insured)
  • Cost: No co-pay, no charge regardless of insurance status

    Testing Fast Passes offer a one-hour window to show up for testing; appointments can also be made by calling 407-665-0000

ADDITIONAL POP-UP COMMUNITY TEST SITES MAY 4, 5
True Health, Florida Department of Health-Seminole and Seminole County Office of Emergency Management are offering additional Pop Up Community Test Sites at Harvest Time International and Palm Valley.

Also, the Lincoln Heights location at Journeys Academy has been rescheduled due potential threat of severe weather.

The Pop Up Community Test Sites are intended to serve those without transportation or accessibility to other sites or clinics; no cost testing is available in select Seminole County neighborhoods in partnership with True Health and Florida Department of Health-Seminole.

Patients must bring identification, patients do not have to exhibit symptoms. Testing is free of charge regardless of insurance status; patients with insurance should bring insurance cards.

Appointments are not necessary. Sites will be operational from 10:00a.m. until 2:00p.m. on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, April 29- Jamestown, Rockhill Missionary Baptist Church 3036 Weston St, Oviedo
  • Monday, May 4- Palm Valley Community Center, 500 East Palm Valley Drive, Oviedo
  • Tuesday, May 5- Harvest Time International, 225 Harvest Time Drive, Sanford
  • NEW DATE Wednesday, May 6- Lincoln Heights, Journeys Academy, 1722 West Airport Boulevard, Sanford (rescheduled from April 30 due to potential severe weather)
