Seminole County FL - MAY 14 COVID 19 UPDATE

SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL (May 14, 2020)- Seminole County Office of Emergency Management has been under a Local State of Emergency (LSE) since March 2, 2020, and continues to monitor COVID-19. There are currently 426 confirmed cases in Seminole County, 418 of which are Seminole County residents; there have been 11 COVID-19 deaths in the County. The County’s confirmed cases range from age six months to 100 years. Updates can be found at prepareseminole.org and on the County’s social media channels.

PRESS CONFERENCE AT SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS OFFICE, 2:00PM
Today’s 2:00p.m. press conference will be held at the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Office, 1500 E Airport Blvd, Sanford, and will focus on COVID-19 response, elections and schools. Watch live at Facebook.com/SeminoleCounty. Speakers include:

P.P.E. FOR BUSINESSES
Seminole County assists with personal protective equipment (P.P.E.) for essential healthcare and long term care agencies; to date, over 316,000 procedural masks, 37,000 N95 masks, and 170,000 gloves, among other items, have been distributed.

All other businesses should acquire P.P.E. independently. A list of Central Florida vendors may be found at PrepareSeminole.org to assist with finding available P.P.E.

Seminole County did not meet the qualifying criteria of 500,000 residents for the portion of CARES Act funding which provides Federal support for P.P.E. distribution.

COVID-19 TEST SITES THIS WEEK
Drive Thru COVID-19 testing, offered by Allied Health at Seminole State College, continues thru the end of the day today, Thursday, May 14, by appointment. The site was originally scheduled through May 14, however, severe weather is predicted Friday, causing the site to end a day earlier.

On Saturdays through the end of May, the American Muslim Community Clinic and Bueno Pharmacy will offer Pop Up Community Test sites with appointments preferred:

  • May 16, 2020, 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m.- Iglesia Presbiteriana El Redentor, 6971 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo
  • May 23, 2020, 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m.- St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 861 Maitland Avenue, Altamonte Springs
  • May 30 , 2020, 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m.- Iglesia Renacimiento Cristiano, 150 Dog Track Road, Longwood

Seminole County Office of Emergency Management and Florida Department of Health-Seminole personnel are available Monday-Saturday from 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m. by phone to answer non-emergency questions related to COVID-19 at 407-665-0000. Spanish-speaking operators are on standby to assist.
