Seminole County FL - MAY 8 COVID-19 UPDATE

SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL (May 8, 2020)- Seminole County Office of Emergency Management has been under a Local State of Emergency (LSE) since March 2, 2020, and continues to monitor COVID-19. There are currently 410 confirmed cases in Seminole County, 402 of which are Seminole County residents; there have been ten COVID-19 deaths in the County. The County’s confirmed cases range from age six months to 100 years. Updates can be found at prepareseminole.org and on the County’s social media channels.

ALLIED HEALTH DRIVE THRU COVID-19 TESTING
Allied Health’s Altamonte Mall Drive Thru COVID-19 Test Site will end operation tomorrow, Saturday, May 9. The site will relocate to Seminole State College Sanford/Lake Mary campus beginning Monday, May 11, 2020, with a daily testing capacity of 250. Antibody testing is not available at this location.

The new location will be adjacent to the Automotive Training Center on Seminole State’s main campus at 100 Weldon Boulevard in Sanford. Signage will direct patients to the queue.

DATES/TIMES: Beginning May 11, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00p.m.
CRITERIA: Patients do not have to exhibit symptoms
REQUIREMENTS: Patients should bring an ID and insurance card if insured; accepting uninsured patients, as well
COST:  No co-pay, no charge regardless of insurance status

POP UP COMMUNITY COVID-19 TEST SITES OFFERED ON SATURDAYS
The American Muslim Community Clinic in partnership with Bueno Pharmacy will offer drive up or walk up COVID-19 testing at locations targeting Spanish-speaking populations. The sites will be operational on Saturdays, beginning May 9, 2020, from 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m. at the following locations:

  • May 9- Iglesia Cristian Hispana, 1643 Disciples Point, Casselberry
  • May 16-Iglesia Presbiteriana El Redentor, 6971 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo
  • May 23- St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 861 Maitland Ave, Altamonte Springs

CRITERIA: Patients do not have to exhibit symptoms
REQUIREMENTS: Patients should bring an ID and insurance card if insured; accepting uninsured patients, as well
COST:  No co-pay, no charge regardless of insurance status

SEMINOLE COUNTY GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS REOPENING: PHASE ONE
Seminole County public lobbies will begin reopening on Monday, May 11, upon installation of appropriate safety measures. Public lobbies include: County Services Building, Environmental Services Business Office, Procurement, and Public Works Administration. All other departments will serve customers by appointment and reopen as protective measures are installed.

The installation of Plexiglass at Seminole County Library branches is ongoing; the Library's buildings remain closed until completion. Additional announcements are forthcoming, including a reopening date and additional Library accessibility. Digital access is available at SeminoleLibrary.org.

SOCIAL DISTANCING FOR REOPENING FOR PERSONAL SERVICES
Seminole County’s Social Distance for Reopening Order includes provisions for personal services when mask use is required. Personal services may be permitted once the Governor’s Order allows.

For businesses which require employees and patrons to be within six (6) feet, both employee and patron must wear a face mask/covering; unless the customer wearing the mask would impede the service, in which case the service provider would need to wear a face mask/covering.
