Seminole County Tax Collector and Driver License Services

In order to prevent unnecessary spreading of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) our offices will be assisting customers with existing appointments ONLY effective Wednesday, March 18th. Check our website for available appointments for limited services at this time.

At that point only the customer with the appointment (and a parent/guardian in the case of a minor) will be admitted into the office to process their transaction.

Please keep in mind that many transactions can be processed online at our website at www.seminolecounty.tax or the state website at www.flhsmv.gov.  We are also happy to assist you by phone on any transactions that can be processed remotely and mailed; Seminole County has waived the mail fees for 60 days. 

The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) has issued an Emergency Order (LINK HERE) extending the effective period of all driver licenses and identification cards that will expire between March 16, 2020 and April 15, 2020 for 30 days, and also waives the delinquent renewal fee during this period.  They have suggested that Floridians traveling out of state print the Executive Order and carry it with their driver license. Customers in need of a replacement of a current license may call to have a temporary paper permit issued and mailed at no charge.  

All road testing will be suspended, including previously scheduled appointments.  Customers with appointments will be accommodated within 30 days once testing has resumed, between the hours of 8:30 to 3:00 or they may make a new appointment. 

All Concealed Weapons applications will be limited to appointment only during this time as well.  Walk in options will resume with all other transactions.   

Motor Vehicle Dealers – we will continue to process dealer work as dropped work ONLY.  You may drop the work with a form of payment and we will have it ready to be picked up within 24-72 hours or as quickly as reasonably possible based on staffing needs. Please see the “Dealer Services” link on our website for the standard dealer process for dropped work as well as acceptable forms of payment.
