Top 10 Reasons to see DAUGHTER this weekend & RUSH tickets

Opera Orlando presents Donizett’s The Daughter of the Regiment this weekend at Steinmetz Hall at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Here are the top 10 reasons why you don’t want to miss this original production:

  1. A stellar cast featuring Metropolitan Opera basso-buffo Peter Strummer.
  2. Vocal fireworks including the always challenging aria “Ah mes amis…” with 9 high C’s. Check out a sneak peek with Venezuelan tenor Carlos Enrique Santelli and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra here: https://fb.watch/jZk83F0oU1/
  3. The homecoming of Metropolitan Opera National Council winner Carlos Enrique Santelli who grew up right here in Orlando and graduated from Freedom High School.
  4. Donizetti’s soaring melodies played by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in the pit under the baton of guest conductor Joshua Horsch.
  5. A special Act II appearance by dancers from the Orlando Ballet choreographed by Mila Makarova.
  6. The dynamite stage presence and impressive vocals of Puerto Rican soprano Camille Ortiz. Check out a small clip here: https://fb.watch/jZlC956-U0/
  7. The ideal and beautifully acoustic setting of Steinmetz Hall, THE perfect hall for opera.
  8. The operatic debut of Margery Pabst Steinmetz as the Duchess of Krakenthorp. This will mark her first time ever performing in an opera AND her first time ever performing in the hall which bears her name.
  9. There’s a happy ending! The Daughter of the Regiment is a heartfelt comedy truly perfect for the whole family.
  10. Tickets start at only $19!

Tickets are still available and Opera Orlando is also pleased to offer Student RUSH tickets for this production. RUSH tickets are discounted to $15 and will be available two hours before showtime at the Dr. Phillips Center Box Office for both Friday and Sunday performances.
