DESCRIPTION:The Sam Slusak Scholarship Fund was established to honor the memory of Samantha Slusak who suffered a C3/4 spinal cord injury during a gymnastics practice in New Port Richey\, Florida that left her paralyzed from the neck down. Sam became one of our first clients and unfortunately passed away too early in life. In 2014 her family created the Samantha Slusak Scholarship Fund for paralyzed individuals who are financially burdened and unable to attend NextStep Orlando's Recovery Program. "The Samantha Slusak Scholarship has been created for individuals who have the motivation\, optimism and drive but struggle to afford the necessary rehabilitation. Samantha would want to continue to change lives for the better." NextStep Orlando is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to encourage hope and improve the quality of life for those paralyzed from a spinal cord injury by regaining function through an aggressive Activity-Based Therapy (ABT) Recovery Program.
