DESCRIPTION:Heathrow Women's Club to host Martie Salt – Television Anchors' Rise to Success\n\nHeathrow Women's Club will meet on October 8\, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Heathrow Country Club for a luncheon meeting with special guest speaker\, Martie Salt.  Salt\, the evening and night anchoring newscaster at WFTV Channel 9 will be the first guest speaker of the year.  Born in Kentucky\, Martie was raised in Miami where she developed an early interest in journalism.  Since landing her first broadcasting job as a small radio station in Melbourne\, Florida after graduating from FSU\, Martie has worked her way up to becoming a television anchor.  Along the way she has interviewed hundreds of newsmakers including Oprah\, Lucy\, Arnold\, President Gerald Ford\, and President George W. Bush.  Martie has also received an Emmy Award\, was honored with a Toastmaster and Communicator of the Year Award\, and was named Volunteer of the Year by the Orange County Public Schools Additions Program.  All the while she has met the challenges of being part of the sandwich generation meeting the needs of children and parents.  You will not want to miss this spectacular program! Open to all. LOCATION:From the East on 1-4\, take exit 98 Lake Mary Blvd. Proceed on Lake Mary Blvd West (right) to the first Light International Parkway (turn right). Take International Parkway down approximately 1 mile\, and the second left will be Bridgewater Drive – there is a stone wall noting “Heathrow Country Club.” Proceed to the Clubhouse on the right.
