Business Development Associate

Shift Hours: Full Time 

Location: Tampa, FL or Kansas City, KS 

Compensation Range: $60-80k / year

 

Position Summary: 

Our Business Development Associate will coordinate and manage the treatment of our patients within our behavioral health facilities; the associate is fluent in the practices, services, and organization of the medical model and liases among patients, families, medical providers, executive leadership, and staff. The Associate also represents our company in the local community, networking at speaking engagements and building authentic relationships with referrals and community partners.

Our Ideal Candidate: 

We are seeking candidates who have a background in behavioral health treatment (as a case manager, social worker, alcohol and drug addiction counselor, etc.) and a passion for serving this population. Moreover, our candidate will need to possess strong interpersonal, public speaking, and networking skills in order to spread our organization’s mission and foster relationships and partnerships with stakeholders in the community. 

 

Core Responsibilities: 

Building Community Partnerships 

  • Create, establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships with referral sources within the assigned area

  • Identify local speaking opportunities and speak at and/or attend local community events.  

Providing On-Site Support 

  • Assist patients seeking treatment to find appropriate treatment locations. 

  • Builds rapport with patients onsite. 

  • Collaborate with facility leadership at treatment centers, working with senior management, physicians, clinicians, admissions, and members of the business development team.

  • Organize and plan onsite facility-specific events and tours. 

  • Consistent communication with Case Management / DOA/ Ops/ Clinical/ Medical 

  • Organize quarterly CEU presentations and facility-specific conference registrations.

Building the Patient Alumni Network 

  • Host quarterly alumni events in the territory (may plan larger events biannually if necessary). 

  • Family Weekend Attendance/participation (Friday sessions).

  • Coordinates patient alumni events and activities, collaborating with the alumni coordinator to maximize participation in the alumni group, and online reviews from patients, families, and referral sources. 

  • Builds and maintains the client database, assisting with follow-up calls when needed.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in healthcare in a behavioral health setting (mental health treatment, detox center, psychiatric hospital, therapy practice, or related setting)

  • REQUIRED - Knowledge of the treatment industry. (Prefer former case manager, social worker, counselor, addiction and substance abuse aide or technician, registered nurse, etc.) 

  • Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to exercise professional judgment and discretion.

  • Effective use of Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.

  • Excellent project management, organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, writing skills, communication, and presentation skills including the ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally with senior levels of management.

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, public relations, sales, business development, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field. 

  • Good driving record that meets safety and company insurance standards

Travel within one’s territory is required. Must be able to complete essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
