Assisted Living Locators Orlando Raises Awareness For Dementia Care Needs Assessment, Provides No Cost Service To Help Families

Every June, Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month reminds us to take the Purple Pledge in solidarity with those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

As part of the Alzheimer’s Purple Pledge campaign, Assisted Living Locators Orlando, a local senior placement and referral service, is raising awareness in the Central Florida community for dementia care needs assessment.  Owner/Senior Care Advisor Beau Herman is a certified dementia care specialist that provides a no cost service to help families affected by Alzheimer’s find in-home care, independent living, assisted living, and memory care options.

“I’m on the front lines of the Alzheimer’s public health issue, providing support services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s as well as educating their caregivers,” said Herman.  “Families often worry if their loved ones with dementia need more support. I’m on a mission to raise awareness of how a needs assessment conducted by a knowledgeable professional is critical in determining the right care for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia.”

Herman noted that deciding what support is needed or where and when to place an aging loved one can be complicated and suggests seeking help from a certified dementia care specialist. “Several factors go into choosing a long-term care community for an Alzheimer’s or dementia patient,” he explained. “Due to their decreased cognitive ability, they may also require additional in-home care. My dementia care training and referral source network helps families address those unmet needs.”

At Assisted Living Locators,  we provide a “free” in-depth assessment of all the client’s needs, along with thoughtful analysis and recommendations for best-fit care options. Families can begin their assessment process with an easy-to-use online tool on Assisted Living Locators website, that is followed up with an in-take interview by phone or in-person. Assisted Living Locators is the first and only senior placement company whose advisors are dementia care certified systemwide.

As part of Assisted Living Locators Walk To End Alzheimer’s National Team, Herman is also recruiting the community to participate in the upcoming local Walk event on October 7.  “Every day I see the dramatic impact this disease has on individuals and families, and I’m dedicated to helping raise funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.”
