WELBRO Transports More Than 25,000 Pounds of Fresh Produce to Local Food Pantries

WELBRO – Making a Difference
The past two months have been quite an adventure for all of us.  COVID-19 has affected all aspects of our lives.  It has changed the way we do things but it has not changed who we are.
Knowing that there were some trucks not on jobsites, WELBRO’s leadership team made the decision to utilize the vehicles to support the community.
WELBRO partnered with SoSA, the Society of St. Andrew, a non-profit agency that gleans farm fields after the harvest, through the help of volunteers and donates the food to local food pantries that distribute it to those in need.
Since then, WELBRO volunteers have gone to Long & Scott Farm, Mack Farms, Southern Hill Farm, a Peach Orchard in Umatilla and Southeastern Food Bank and have gleaned and transported produce to local pantries and agencies from Apopka to St. Cloud.
Thanks to our wonderful employee volunteers and the support of our leadership – WELBRO IS making a difference.
