Rise and Shine CF, Sheryl L. Mays serves as the keynote speaker at Seminole State College of Florida Business Etiquette Dinner

Sheryl L. Mays, Founder and Chief Learning Officer of Rise and Shine CF, was selected by Laura Schumacher, Alumni and Employee Giving Coordinator for the Foundation for Seminole State College of Florida and Lisette Guillén-Dolby, Assistant Director of the Career Development Center, to serve as the keynote speaker for the Business Etiquette Dinner being held on October 24, 2019 at the Embassy Suites, Altamonte Springs.

“I recently met Laura Schumacher at a Seminole Regional County Chamber networking event. We later got together to see if there were any opportunities where my company could be of service to their students along the lines of professional development. Having also been a student of Seminole State College, this was a great opportunity for me to give back to the school and the business community.”

Many college students graduate with the hard skills to operate in the business world but often they simply lack the soft skills of engagement. Having a meal during an interview can be a very nerve-racking experience along with what conversation topics are open for discussion. However, by knowing some of the manners that are expected at this time, you can alleviate some of the nervousness and stress. That is what the Business Etiquette Dinner provides for the 70+ students looking at how to be successful in a professional work environment.

“Today students are faced with juggling academics, personal matters and professional development.  Here at Seminole State, we pride ourselves in finding meaningful and impactful career development mini-training session opportunities like the Business Etiquette Dinner to enhance student learning and to increase student confidence at the business table.” As stated by Lisette Guillén-Dolby, Assistant Director of the Career Development Center.
