SANFORD, Fla. (Aug. 23, 2021) Beginning today, Seminole State College of Florida is offering a financial incentive to all current students and employees who demonstrate proof of having a full COVID-19 vaccination. The program is purely voluntary. Students and employees who choose to take part and submit proof of being fully vaccinated with two shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine and present their evidence by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 15, 2021, will receive a $250 payment.
The vaccination incentive program for students begins on Aug. 23, 2021, in tandem with the first day of classes for the Fall Term and on Sept. 1, 2021, for employees. To take part in the program, students and employees can visit seminolestate.edu/coronavirus and view the COVID-19 Vaccination Incentive box to learn more and apply.
To protect the health and safety of the community, the College encourages everyone who is eligible for the vaccine to seriously consider getting it. Additionally, Seminole State has reinstated its COVID-19 safety protocols and strongly recommends vaccinated and unvaccinated faculty, staff, students and visitors wear masks/cloth face coverings when inside campus buildings and classrooms. This is in alignment with the updated recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Seminole County continues to offer free COVID-19 vaccinations at locations across the county. For appointments go to prepareseminole.org. Vaccination clinics are also being held at Seminole State Welcome Back Week events on Aug. 23, 24, 25 and 26 on the Sanford/Lake Mary and Altamonte Springs campuses. Vaccinations are also available from local pharmacies and medical providers.
