Come enjoy a festive evening dedicated to helping homeless and disadvantaged children in our community. The Sip and Shop for Hearts, Hands and Hope is being held on Tuesday November 19th, from 6-9pm at the Heathrow Country Club. The event is free to attend and will feature local vendors with unique items for purchase. “These hard working, small business owners will have the opportunity to sell their merchandise to our guests, just in time for the holiday season. At the same time, they will be providing support to such a worthy cause,” says Michelle DeSmedt, Vice President for Hearts, Hands and Hope.
There will also be a silent auction, raffle, appetizers and a cash bar. “We have wonderful auction and raffle items such as theme park tickets, wine baskets, Orlando Magic tickets and a chance to win millions,” says Penny Lawson, Secretary for Hearts, Hands and Hope.
The money raised will be used to help feel local children over the holidays. “Most of us look forward to the holidays, but the 36 thousand homeless and disadvantaged children in Seminole County do not, “says Michelle Wilson, Executive Director for Hearts, Hands and Hope. “The holidays are a long stretch of days without food support they would typically receive from free lunch programs at school, when the schools are closed, their access to food goes away.” Hearts, Hands and Hope fills that need. The organization provides food support over the weekends, holidays and summer break, when children need it most.
Hearts, Hands and Hope is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit children and family support organization which helps homeless and disadvantaged children and families in our community. The organization is based in Lake Mary, Florida and provides food and other basic needs to thousands of children and families.
