The Heathrow Women's Club will feature Geri Ann Evans who will tell the story of the Casa Monica's ''return to grandeur.'' The Casa Monica is a 124 year old, elegant, historic building in St. Augustine. Built in May 1887 by Henry Flagler, the Casa Monica went on to become the Cordova Hotel, and then the St. John's County Courthouse before falling into disrepair. In 1997 Richard Kessler, a man from Orlando with a vision and a dream, purchased the building embraced its history, restored its original elegance, changed the name back to Casa Monica and kept it on the National Historic Registry. Geri Ann Evans did extensive historical research on the building which she shared with the owner, the architects and interior designers. Through slides and short stories Geri will now share this fascinating story of The Casa Monica with all in attendance. The luncheon will be held at the Heathrow Country Club. Open to all.
