Long-term brain function is impacted by hearing loss. In a recent Johns Hopkins study, those who did have hearing loss suffered more substantial cognitive impairment more than three years sooner than others with normal hearing levels. Life Saving Award with Oviedo Fire Rescue and Seminole County Fire Department
Oviedo Fire Rescue hosted a Life Saving Award honoring Oviedo Engine 48 crew and Seminole County Fire Department's Rescue 43 crew. The crew responded to 69-year old Oviedo resident Janie Pettaway who went into a cardiac arrest and was not breathing on the evening of July 21, 2022. Janie's husband Robert performed hands-only CPR until crews arrived, which was a critical step in the life-saving process.
