The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County (DOH-Seminole) will host a free Lunch & Learn for Physicians and Office Managers. Lunch will be provided. Physicians and Office Managers can register with Frances Vaughn at 407-665-3019 or Frances.Vaughn@flhealth.gov.
“The Lunch & Learn will reintroduce public health to our partners and community,” said Sarah Wright, Executive Community Health Nursing Director for DOH-Seminole. “DOH-Seminole strives to inform and educate the public about available programs and services.”
Services offered at DOH-Seminole include: vaccinations to protect against disease, school physicals, school health, home visits to pregnant women and new moms, investigations to control outbreaks of infectious diseases, birth and death certificate issuance, clinical services for specific health care needs, dental care, nutritional services for expectant new mothers, men’s health, environmental health, chronic disease services, and public information and inspiration to improve health.
DOH-Seminole was founded in 1941. Today, the organization has two satellite offices – WIC in Casselberry and Environmental Health in downtown Sanford. Seminole County is currently ranked number four out of sixty-seven counties in the state of Florida for health outcomes and health factors.
“The Lunch & Learn was developed to strengthen community partnerships to improve the overall health of Seminole County residents,” said Dr. Swannie Jett, Health Officer for DOH-Seminole. “DOH-Seminole provides a variety of services tailored to protect the community from disease, promote healthy behaviors, and improve the quality of life in Seminole County.”
