9:00 AM - 4:00 PM EDT
Lake Emma Animal Hospital 645 Primera Blvd. Lake Mary, FL 32746
A recent CBS "60 minutes" episode title, "Homeless children: the hard times generation" (aired 3/6/2011 - see link below) depicted Seminole County's children as being amongst the hardest hit in terms of homelessness. The plight of these children and their families captured our attention and became a call to action.
Our goal is to provide ongoing support to these neighbors in their time of need and we would like to begin this effort with a large show of support from our community. The county organization we will be assisting is Families in Transition which provides support and counseling for these unfortunate children and their families.
On April 9, 2011, from 9:00am to 4:00pm volunteers will be collecting non-perishable foods, new and slightly used clothing, school and hygiene supplies, gift cards and cash donations. In addition we will be raffling off veterinary services, bathing/grooming services, pet products/food, heartworm and flea products and assorted gift cards. We would encourage chamber members to donate products or services for the raffle or cash donations for these Families in Transition. Please lend a helping hand to our community.
If interesting in assisting in any fashion please contact us.
