Love, jealousy and murder converge in County Mayo, Ireland, when charismatic young Christy Mahon stumbles into a local tavern telling tales of having murdered his own father. Rather than condemn his actions, the townspeople take a morbid interest in Christy’s stories, hailing him as a local folk hero. But everything is not as it seems in this 1907 drama, and things soon take a complicated turn for Christy and the people of County Mayo.
