AdventHealth Altamonte Springs has named Dr. David Goldman as its new chief medical officer. A board-certified emergency medicine physician and long-time team member of AdventHealth, Goldman returns to the Altamonte Springs campus where he began his medical career, marking a full-circle moment of leadership and service.
With more than 25 years of experience, Goldman most recently served as chief medical officer at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach. Since joining AdventHealth in the early 2000s, he has held leadership and clinical roles across multiple campuses, including Altamonte Springs, Winter Park and Orlando. Known for his hands-on approach, Goldman consistently champions initiatives that enhance patient experience, safety and quality of care.
“Dr. Goldman’s return to Altamonte Springs is not just a homecoming — it’s a reaffirmation of our commitment to advancing whole-person care for our Seminole County community,” said Jeff Villanueva, chief executive officer at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs. “His leadership and clinical insight will help guide our continued growth and ensure we remain the preferred choice for exceptional, compassionate care.”
Goldman earned his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his emergency medicine training in New York. He also holds an MBA from George Washington University, is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP) and is a graduate of both the Florida Medical Association’s Leadership Academy and the ACEP Directors Academy.
“AdventHealth Altamonte Springs is a special campus that plays a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our Seminole County community,” Goldman said. “Keeping our patients, families and team members at the center of everything we do has been the key to our continued growth and success as we strengthen the bonds that connect us. There is nothing we cannot overcome or excel at when we stay united in purpose. As we continue to grow our service lines, we remain focused on providing the highest quality care experience for every patient and their family.”
Beyond his professional achievements, Goldman and his wife of 29 years are active in their community and enjoy outdoor sports and local events. An avid golfer and marathon runner, he has completed both the Boston and New York marathons, and he takes great pride in spending time with their two adult children.
