What Should I Know if I Want to Sell My Personal Firearm to a Private Citizen?
When selling a firearm, there is a lot of regulation; however, most of it is designed for transactions between Federally Licensed Firearms Dealers (FFL) and private citizens. The good news is that when selling a firearm is conducted between two private citizens, the rules are simple and there is no wait time, but there are still a few legal requirements. In Florida, both persons (seller and buyer) would need to be residents of the State of Florida (or of the same state otherwise); be at least 18 years of

Baby Boomer Breakups: Truths about Grey Divorce
You may be surprised to find that the overall rate of divorce in the U.S. has gone down in the past 20 years; however, that does not necessarily apply to people over 50. Grey Divorce, or the act of getting a divorce later in life, has seen a rise occur lately. This goes directly against the common statement that we often hear: the point that young people do not stay together like they used to. When taking a critical approach to looking at the numbers, we must analyze what are the contributing factors to

Tackling Poverty and Hunger in 2023
Poverty isn’t a number in a bank account. It’s not an area code, or even a statistic. I define poverty as not having the financial independence to make critical decisions in one’s daily life. And unfortunately, we’re seeing this reach into the pockets of more and more people. Lingering inflation means that many households still struggle to make ends meet. Food prices – especially the cost of eggs, produce and chicken – continue to rise as the cost of gas ticks upward again, too. In a state where the

Captioned Telephones
My mother, Gloria Newberger, experienced profound hearing loss. She was able to get a free captioned phone and it made a world of difference. When speaking to her you had to wait after stating each sentence for her to read it, but it was a vast improvement over her saying ”what” all the time. Ironically, when she finally did get hearing aids, she still read the captions and the delay continued. Sometimes, she would read my sentences and they were hysterically funny because they resembled what I said

The most frequent question we receive from Landlords is whether the tenant will be able to fight or delay the eviction process. Chapter 83 Florida Statutes, and the lease agreement are the controlling documents between the landlord and the tenant. It is important
