Christina Hollerbach has been elected the next Mayor of Sanford following the August 18 municipal election. Under the City of Sanford Charter, Hollerbach will officially assume the office of Mayor on Monday, December 14, 2026, the second Monday in December following the election. A formal swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place as part of the transition, with details to be announced.
Hollerbach thanked Sanford residents for participating in the election and expressed appreciation to her supporters, volunteers and the broader community.
“As Mayor, my commitment will be to serve all of Sanford,” Hollerbach said. “I look forward to listening to our residents, working collaboratively with our City Commission and staff, and building on the strengths that make Sanford such a special place to live, work and visit.”
The Mayoral transition will begin in the coming months, with Hollerbach preparing to take office and assume the responsibilities of Mayor on December 14.
