Edge Systems, Inc. announced the completion of its summer internship program, which welcomed 23 student interns acquired through the Seminole County Public Schools spring internship fair.
The summer program placed students into educational and project-based pathways designed to connect classroom learning with real-world business, technology, communications, nonprofit, and community engagement work. Interns gained exposure to professional expectations, local business environments, networking opportunities, project planning, and community service throughout the summer.
Interns participated in a range of pathways and support areas, including website support, automation and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and compliance, media and communications, podcast production, and community outreach and events. The experience gave students the opportunity to contribute to practical projects while developing communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and workplace-readiness skills.
A major focus of the program was helping students build professional confidence outside the classroom. Through local business meetings, Chamber events, educational tours, nonprofit initiatives, and project assignments, students were able to see how business, technology, and community service intersect in Central Florida.
Edge Systems encourages other local businesses to consider creating similar internship opportunities for students. Even small businesses can make a meaningful difference by opening their doors, sharing professional experience, and giving students the chance to observe, ask questions, contribute, and grow.
As the summer internship cycle concludes, Edge Systems extends its best wishes to the interns as they move forward into college endeavors, career exploration, personal goals, continued community involvement, and the next stages of their education. The company is proud of the professionalism, curiosity, and effort demonstrated by the students throughout the program.
A select group of interns will continue with Edge Systems through the school year, joining additional college students from the University of Central Florida. These continuing interns will support ongoing projects, continue developing technical and professional skills, and remain connected to business, technology, and nonprofit initiatives in the region.
Edge Systems thanks Seminole County Public Schools, participating community partners, local business leaders, families, and mentors who helped make the summer internship experience possible.
