Out-Of-This-World Presentations
The Emil Buehler Perpetual Trust Planetarium at Seminole State offers live, interactive shows and full-dome video presentations that are unlike any planetarium show guests will experience. From traditional star displays and cultural shows that detail the importance of astronomy around the world, to feature presentations that whisk guests through the depths of outer space, the planetarium has something for curious stargazers of all ages.
Fall Feature: Pink Floyd’s iconic album ‘The Dark Side of the Moon,’ originally released in March 1973, is still a favorite more than 50 years later, and guests are invited to celebrate and experience music set to visuals at the Planetarium on Sept. 19.

Center for Fine and Performing Arts
Seminole State’s Center for Fine and Performing Arts offers programs in art, music and theater as well as a wide variety of concerts, theater productions, gallery exhibits and other cultural events. Feature events this fall include:

Seminole State Speaker Series
Seminole State’s 2025-26 Speaker Series kicks off Oct. 9 with a presentation featuring award-winning author Erin Stewart. The College’s Campus READ program is partnering with the Speaker Series to bring this author to campus to share insights from her 2023 book and this year’s Campus READ selection, The Words We Keep. Stewart will offer an informative and encouraging talk on using poetry and words to write about tough topics like mental health and how speaking up, connecting and sharing is so important for mental health, and life in general.

Halloween Family Fun on Campus
Freaks & Geeks is an annual gaming and design digital media event hosted by the Seminole State College Freaks & Geeks Student Digital Media Club in cooperation with the College’s Student Networking Club (NITA). Both student clubs practice leadership skills while having the opportunity to network with businesses leaders in their community on Oct. 23. RSVP on the website.
The Spooky Star Party is set for Oct. 25. Join the Emil Buehler Planetarium at Seminole State College for an evening of celestial observation, spooky crafts, hair-raising science activities, and of course...candy! We encourage everyone to be festive and to dress up in their Halloween best. Hair-raising science exhibits and demos, spooky crafts, solar telescope observing, live animals, fossil hunting and more begin at 5 p.m. The star party and science activities are FREE to attend and costumes and trick-or-treat bags to fill are encouraged. WDBO invites the community to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office’s 8th annual Halloween Safety Spooktacular held at Seminole State College on Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. Guests are encouraged to gather the family and come dressed in costumes for free Trunk-or-Treating and snow cones served up by the Snow Patrol while supplies last.
