Greater Orlando Sports Commission Announces Date And Watch Party Location For 2024 Sportys: Greater Orlando’s Night Of Champions

Nominations are now being accepted for awards show to honor sports business professionals from Greater Orlando’s sports ecosystem

ORLANDO, Fla. (August 22, 2024) – The Greater Orlando Sports Commission (GO Sports) has opened nominations and announced the date for the 2024 SPORTYS awards. With Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute returning as the presenting sponsor, the 2024 SPORTYS: Greater Orlando’s Night of Champions will be streamed on WKMG News 6’s website ClickOrlando.com and streaming channel News 6+ on Wednesday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. EST. A live watch party and Sports Industry Reception will take place that evening at the Orlando Museum of Art.

After a seven-year absence, the SPORTYS returned with a new focus in 2020: honoring sports business professionals whose contributions and impact are vital in making Greater Orlando one of the country’s premier sports destinations. With more than 50 finalists recognized per year in 2020 and 2021 and more than 60 finalists recognized per year in 2022 and 2023, the SPORTYS are proud to celebrate the hard-working professionals in Greater Orlando’s sports ecosystem. Each year, finalists and viewers also help GO Sports raise money for various programs at Heart of Florida United Way.

The categories for 2024 are listed below, along with the list of winners from 2023.

“We are thrilled to officially open nominations for the 2024 SPORTYS,” said Sharon Line Clary, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission Board of Directors and Senior Vice President of Community Impact & Partnership Engagement at AdventHealth. “The SPORTYS is a staple event in our annual calendar. We’ve celebrated more than 230 finalists over the last four years, including many prominent leaders in our industry, and we expect to receive a record number of nominations again this year. We look forward to another chance to showcase the talented sports business professionals who make up Greater Orlando’s sports community.”

“We’d like to extend our thanks to both WKMG News 6 and Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, who return as our streaming and production partner and presenting sponsor, respectively, for the fifth year in a row,” said Jason Siegel, President & CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission. “We are also excited to be back at the Orlando Museum of Art to host this year’s watch party and Sports Industry Reception.”
