Since joining the Seminole County Chamber in June, the team at Portrait Bank has attended nine events, earning it a New Member Spotlight.
Portrait Bank is Central Florida’s newest community bank, built by local community leaders who believe banking should be personal. We provide commercial lending, business and personal banking, treasury management, and private banking solutions, with local decision-making and a commitment to building lasting relationships with the people and businesses we serve.
Here are a few thoughts from Chris McVay of Portrait Bank.
Why did you join the Chamber?
My relationship with the Seminole County Chamber started before Portrait Bank. After founding my own company several years ago, I joined the Chamber to build relationships and become more connected to the local business community. Those relationships ultimately played a meaningful role in my decision to join and invest in Portrait Bank. The bank was built with that same community-focused mindset; to be part of Central Florida, not just do business here. I’m excited to introduce Portrait Bank to a Chamber community that has meant so much to me and to continue building relationships, supporting local organizations, and investing in Seminole County’s continued growth.
What surprised you the most about your experience with the Chamber so far?
The genuine relationships. The Seminole County Chamber is much more than networking events. Members truly want to get to know one another, support each other’s businesses, and make a positive impact in the community. That sense of connection and collaboration is what makes the Chamber special and so appealing to Portrait Bank.
What is your favorite Chamber benefit?
The genuine relationships. I originally joined as a small business owner and quickly found a community that was incredibly welcoming and supportive. Those relationships have continued as I transitioned to Portrait Bank, reinforcing that the Chamber is about much more than networking; it’s about people helping people succeed.
