Redio Risell, owner of Risell Mobile Detailing LLC, spent Monterey Car Week 2026 in Carmel, California, working on the vehicle preparation team for Broad Arrow Auctions ahead of the auction house's inaugural Quail Auction. Two of the cars he prepared finished among the highest results of the entire sale.
The first was a 2003 Ferrari Enzo finished in Nero over Rosso leather, one of roughly a dozen delivered new to the United States and one of only three specified with that interior. It sold for $10,675,000, the top result of the two-day auction and one of the highest prices ever paid for an Enzo at public auction.
The second was a 2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport in White over saddle brown Nappa leather, one of only 150 built. It brought $3,305,000, a new world record auction price for the Veyron model.
"Cars like that get looked at under lights, from every angle, by people who know exactly what they are looking for," Risell said. "There is nowhere to hide. It comes down to the same fundamentals I use on every vehicle I touch, just with zero room for error."
Broad Arrow's two-day sale was held August 13 and 14 at The Quail Golf Club in Carmel, its first as the official auction partner of The Quail by The Peninsula, A Motorsports Gathering. The auction generated $97.4 million in total sales with 85 percent of lots sold and more than 1,400 registered bidders, making it Broad Arrow's highest-grossing Monterey Car Week to date. It produced world record prices across a number of models, including a 2025 Bugatti W16 Mistral at $8,805,000.
Monterey Car Week is the collector car world's most significant week of the year. The 2026 edition opened August 12 with Motorlux at the Monterey Jet Center, where more than 120 significant automobiles and 15 aircraft were displayed on the tarmac for a crowd of over 4,000 guests. It continued Friday, August 14, with the 23rd edition of The Quail by The Peninsula, A Motorsports Gathering, where a field of more than 200 rare automobiles was shown at The Quail Golf Club and a 1957 Ferrari 625/250 Testarossa owned by collector Bruce Meyer took Best of Show.
For Risell, the trip marked a step onto a national stage for a business he built from the ground up after relocating to Central Florida.
"Nothing about how I work changed when I got home," Risell said. "The car in a driveway in Seminole County gets the same attention the Bugatti got. That is the entire point of doing this right."
