The Orlando Magic recently announced several front office promotions in business operations including Chief Strategy & Business Officer Jay Riola, Chief Marketing Officer Shelly Wilkes, Chief Facilities and Operations Officer Alex Diaz, and Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships J.T. McWalters.
As the Chief Strategy and Business Officer, Riola will lead efforts across gate revenue, strategy, technology, and innovation. Riola is entering his 21st season with the team.
Wilkes has been promoted to the Magic’s chief marketing officer. In her role, she will oversee all brand strategy including digital marketing, fan and community impact. She has been with the organization since 2004.
As the Magic’s Chief Facilities & Operations Officer, Diaz will join the organization full time and oversee arena operations, security, project management, and Westcourt mixed use development. Diaz is entering his first year with the Magic.
McWalters, entering his 21st season with the Magic, has been named the team’s executive vice president of global partnerships. He will continue to oversee all areas of the department, including new and retention sales efforts, activation and fulfillment of all partnership agreements, and the global partnerships strategy and insights team, leading strategic support for the department and all Magic partners.
