Seminole County Public Schools Health Services Team Unveils Innovative Training Center and Simulation Lab

Sanford, FL: Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) is excited to announce the grand opening of its Health Training Center and Simulation Lab, designed to equip school nurses and clinic assistants with advanced tools and education. This facility represents a significant step forward in ensuring the highest standards of health care for our students.

The new Training Center and Simulation Lab are located at the SCPS Early Learning Center, and offer a unique and immersive learning environment, providing hands-on experience in addressing the diverse medical needs of students. Through realistic simulations and interactive training modules, staff will gain valuable skills and confidence in managing a variety of health
scenarios that may arise in a school setting.

When speaking about the impact of this project on students, Michael Weitermann, Medical and Health Coordinator for Seminole County Public Schools said, "This fully immersive Training Center allows us to shift our training model from 'conference room learning' to a more realistic and interactive model helping staff members develop confidence and proficiency in providing timely and effective care to our students with medical needs. Through initiatives like this, SCPS will be at the forefront of maintaining a high caliber Health Services program that other districts across the State of Florida can model."
