Seminole County Public Schools Hosts Ribbon Cutting on Newly Renovated Academy of Health Careers

Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) was thrilled to officially cut the ribbon for the newly renovated Health Academy at Seminole High School, marking the completion of the first phase of an extensive, nearly $3 million renovation project. The much-anticipated improvements were made possible thanks to a legislative appropriation championed by Senator Jason Brodeur, Representative David Smith, and former Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy, as well as grants and donations by generous health care partners and community members.

The Health Academy now boasts state-of-the-art facilities and technology to enhance the learning experience for students pursuing careers in the health sciences. The renovations include modernized classrooms, advanced simulation labs, and updated technology, all designed to provide students with the handson experience and training needed to excel in the rapidly evolving healthcare industry.

The first phase of renovations at Seminole High School's Health Academy is just the beginning, with further enhancements including a “sim rig” which will have the back of an ambulance embedded into a classroom planned as part of the overall three million investment. These improvements will continue to elevate the educational experience at Seminole High School, ensuring its students are wellprepared for the demands of the healthcare sector.
