Tech Rage IT’s Co-Founder and Chief Experience Officer, Matt Rose, has recently made multiple appearances on Fox 35 Orlando (WOFL-TV) as a technology expert, sharing valuable insights on two major service outages sharing valuable insights on two major service outages, including one that impacted tens of thousands and another that affected 1.7 million customers.
On September 12, Rose was invited to discuss the Microsoft services outage impacting AT&T customers. During the segment, he analyzed the root cause of the issue, which affected key services such as Outlook, Teams, and Minecraft.
Rose emphasized the importance of network redundancy to ensure access to critical applications, noting that many customers were able to continue working by using alternative internet connections or VPNs.
On September 30, Rose returned to Fox35 to discuss the ongoing Verizon outage, where he provided insights on how consumers could cope with service disruptions.
He covered practical workarounds for users impacted by the outage, such as utilizing Wi-Fi calling for phone services and leveraging iMessage or WhatsApp over Wi-Fi networks when traditional SMS services were unavailable. Additionally, he highlighted how SOS modes allow emergency calls to be routed through any available network, ensuring vital communication in times of need.
"In today’s connected world, outages like these remind us of how dependent we are on technology, but they also highlight the importance of being prepared,” said Rose. “Whether it's having backup networks or knowing alternative communication methods, there are always solutions to keep businesses and individuals moving forward."
