What Are You Carrying Into 2027 That You Shouldn’t Be?

By this point in the year, a lot of business owners and leaders are tired.

You have been solving problems all year. Covering gaps. Answering questions. Making decisions. Putting out little fires before they turn into bigger ones.

And somewhere along the way, a lot of things that were supposed to be temporary just became normal.

The process everyone hates but still uses.

The role that has picked up so many extra responsibilities that you are not even sure what the job is anymore.

The really good employee you promoted into management who may never have actually been taught how to manage.

The workaround that was supposed to get you through a busy month and is somehow still the way you do things two years later.

The issue you have talked about, patched, and then talked about again.

When you are already overwhelmed, it is easy to keep carrying all of it because stopping to fix it feels like one more thing to do.

But eventually it is worth asking:

Do we really want to carry this into another year?

Sometimes the Problem Isn’t What You Think It Is

When there are ten things competing for your attention, the natural instinct is to fix whatever is loudest.

But the loudest issue is not always the real issue.

Maybe you need another employee.

Or maybe you need to look at who is doing what and why.

Maybe you have a performance problem.

Or maybe the manager has never been clear about the expectation.

Maybe you need a new system.

Or maybe you already have a system that can do what you need, but nobody is using it that way.

Maybe the policy needs to change.

Or maybe five managers are applying the same policy five different ways.

Sometimes the thing that feels like “one more problem” is actually connected to three others.

That is why stepping back matters.

Before 2027, Ask Yourself a Few Questions

What keeps coming up over and over again?

What are people working around instead of actually solving?

What are you still doing because “that’s how we’ve always done it”?

What are you personally carrying that probably should not still sit with you?

And what have you been saying you will get to when things slow down?

Because for most businesses, January is not going to magically be less busy.

You do not need to fix everything before the calendar changes.

You do need to know what actually deserves your attention.

Sometimes You Need Someone Who Isn’t Already in It

When you are inside the business every day, some things just start to look normal.

You stop noticing how many workarounds exist.

You get used to being the person everyone comes to.

You keep solving the same issue because you do not have the time to stop and ask why it keeps happening.

An outside perspective can help you see what you have gotten used to, what is taking more time or energy than it should, and what is actually worth addressing first.

That is why I created Axisara Group’s $300 Organizational & Workforce Snapshot.

It is a focused look across the people and operational side of your business to help identify where things may be getting unnecessarily complicated, where there may be risk, and what deserves attention next.

Not a giant report.

Not a list of 47 things you suddenly need to fix.

Just a clearer picture of where you are today and what would make the biggest difference going forward.

Seminole County Chamber members receive 10% off the Organizational & Workforce Snapshot.

Because if you are already carrying too much, the answer probably is not to carry all of it into 2027 too.
