YouTube or Vimeo?

SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL — June 25, 2024 – It's been said that a picture is worth 1,000 words and that a minute of video is worth 1,000,000 words.
So it makes sense to use video in your marketing.
And using it in your email marketing can be powerful.
But... since email service providers don't actually host the videos - the videos you see in emails are actually hosted somewhere else and are linked to by the email service provider - which service should host your video?
YouTube is the world's second largest search engine.
It's second only to Google in popularity.
(Google is YouTube's owner.)
If you want your video to be found in a search, use YouTube.
The problem is that when someone finds a video on YouTube, after the video plays, YouTube's AI will automatically present other videos - and they may be competitor's videos.
For that reason, if you want to prevent a competitor's video from being played after your video, you may want to choose different video platform to house your video.
“I like Vimeo,” said email marketing expert Ken Countess, owner of KEN IS EMAIL. “When you use Vimeo, you ‘control’ your destiny - because when the video ends, that's it.  There's no risk of a competitor's video playing.”
“In your marketing, you can direct your email readers to Vimeo - while you'll also be able to be found on YouTube if someone does a Google search for you or your product/service,” Countess continued. “That's because videos show higher in Google's organic search results than non-video results - Google knows people would prefer to watch a video than read.
