ORLANDO, FL (October 4, 2023) – Living generously is one of FAIRWINDS Credit Union’s four milestones toward achieving financial freedom. This year’s “Give Generously Campaign” exemplifies that commitment with employees collectively donating $103,544 to make an extraordinary difference in transforming the lives of others in Central Florida.
“Giving back to the communities in which we live and work is part of our DNA at FAIRWINDS,” said James Adamczyk, senior executive vice president and chief revenue officer of FAIRWINDS. “We are honored to support the impactful work of four outstanding organizations that are transforming the fabric of Central Florida.”
The recipient organizations are:
- FAIRWINDS Foundation – Through its grants, this 501(c)(3) philanthropic arm of FAIRWINDS Credit Union supports Central Florida’s most economically vulnerable populations, including homeless and at-risk youth, victims of domestic violence, minority business owners and others. In recent years, its impact has ranged from doubling the financial literacy testing scores of 13,400 area students and providing financial education, one-on-one mentoring and affordable housing to 1,000 people, to helping secure $3.4 million in tax refunds for disadvantaged families and assisting small businesses in creating and retaining 2,400 jobs.
- Heart of Florida United Way – Central Florida’s largest supporter of local health and human service agencies includes a focus on finding long-term solutions to the barriers that can keep a family from becoming financially stable.
- United Arts of Central Florida – The agency’s grants and programs make art and culture accessible for everyone to live in a more inspiring and enriching community.
- Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando – This nonprofit creates more caring communities by compassionately educating, sheltering, placing and healing pets and their families.
FAIRWINDS hosted a breakfast reception on September 22 to honor the 2023 recipient organizations and celebrate its employees’ extraordinary contributions and philanthropic spirit that resulted in a record-breaking fundraising year.
