Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital Named a Becker’s Great Community Hospital

Orlando, FL (August 11, 2023) – Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital has been named one of Becker’s Great Community Hospitals for 2023. Published earlier this month in Becker’s Hospital Review, the list features 153 hospitals across the U.S. known for providing clinical excellence, compassionate care, and a positive economic impact on their communities.

Being the sole hospital in Central Florida selected for this year's list, Orlando Health South Seminole is highly regarded for maintaining a community feel while also providing access to the area’s most advanced medical and emergency procedures and quality healthcare. The 206-bed hospital located in the heart of Longwood’s historic downtown corridor has been serving Seminole County for more than 35 years.

“Our team members are the heartbeat of Orlando Health South Seminole and we’re honored to be recognized by Becker’s,” says Shawn Molsberger, senior vice president of the Orlando Health Northeast Region, and president of Orlando Health South Seminole. “This achievement is a direct result of our unwavering commitment to the well-being of our patients and to making a positive impact on our Seminole County community as a whole.”

Orlando Health South Seminole also has the distinct honor of being selected among Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare for the last four years in a row. In July, The Emergency Nurses Association recognized the hospital with its prestigious 2023 Lantern Award, and the American Heart Association conferred its Get With The Guidelines® - Heart Failure Silver quality achievement award for Orlando Health South Seminole’s commitment to improving outcomes for patients with heart failure.
