Rescue Outreach Mission Names Matt McMillan New Board Chair

Rescue Outreach Mission is proud to announce that Longwood City Commissioner Matt McMillan has been named the new chair of the board of directors of the organization.

"Matt is well known as a tremendous advocate for many causes in Seminole County because he truly cares about our community and the people who live here," says Chris Ham, executive director, Rescue Outreach Mission. "I'm certainly looking forward to working with Matt and all of our board members in this critical time for our organization."

McMillan grew up in Longwood, graduating from Lake Mary High School in 1993, and receiving his law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law. He has served as Longwood city commissioner since 2020 when he was first elected. He just ended a term serving as the city's deputy mayor. He is a practicing attorney focusing on helping individuals and corporations with their tax issues and is one of Central Florida's leading experts on political campaign finance.

Besides Rescue Outreach Mission, McMillan is a 10-year member of the Seminole County Chamber and a former board member of the organization. He is actively involved in the Longwood Historical Society and is the treasurer of the newly rechartered Longwood Rotary Club. He is also a member of the Catholic Lawyers Guild Board.

"It is my privilege to serve as chair of Rescue Outreach Mission in 2024, joining a great team," McMillan says. "Whether by financial contribution, volunteering time, event attendance, or even just sharing information, there will be opportunities for my family, friends and community to support this hopeful expedition."
