Rescue Outreach Mission Receives Platinum Seal of Transparency

Fewer than 1 percent of all non-profits receive designation from Guidestar

Sanford, Fla. (September 27, 2023) – For donors looking to make a contribution, the strength of an organization plays a major part. Donors need to be able to fully understand how their support will be used to make a difference.

This week, Rescue Outreach Mission took a giant step to providing transparency and that third-party validation by receiving the Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency on GuideStar, the nation’s premier database of non-profit information.

“Candid is among the top places where donors turn to in order to make informed decisions about giving to non-profit organizations,” says Chris Ham, executive director, Rescue Outreach Mission. “We are continually finding ways to show how this organization is pushing forward to be a key part of Seminole County’s future.”

According to Guidestar, fewer than 12,000 of the 1.7 million nonprofit organizations in the United States qualify for the platinum level seal.

The Seal of Transparency program has four levels, starting at a basic “bronze” level. In each step, the organization is required to disclose very specific information, like the financials of the organization. For the platinum level seal, an organization is required to show its strategic plan and specific metrics that showcase results.

About Rescue Outreach Mission:  In 1986, Mother Blanche Bell Weaver, Pastor of the Rescue Church of God, saw desperate people in her community living without basic essentials. With the support of her church and members, she was determined to help those in need. She founded the Rescue Outreach Mission to provide safety, support and a healing environment for her community.

Located across from the Rescue Church of God in Sanford, Rescue Outreach Mission remains true to her mission by serving disadvantaged people throughout Central Florida by providing resources that help prevent homelessness and assisting those who are homeless to become self-sufficient.
