Retro City Cycles hosts Bicycle Rodeo at Wekiva Elementary

Wekiva Elementary students were treated to a special experience, a bike rodeo!
Retro City Cycles owner Jessica Kinnee organized this fun event in partnership with the Florida Freewheelers, SORBA (Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association) Orlando, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office Crossing Guard team, Bike Walk Central Florida, and many others.
Carl the Safety Bear helped students complete a bike safety challenge course.  FDOT-certified helmet fitters ensured that all students had proper-fitting helmets, and if they didn't have a helmet, one was donated to them.  There was a helmet decorating contest, first aid station, and balance bikes for those not ready to ride on two wheels just yet.
To finish the festivities, Wekiva Principal Keaton Schreiner led the students around the property for a bicycle parade!
Nearly 150 students attended, and 55 helmets were donated.
It is great to see our "next generation" of cyclists practicing safety while having fun!
