Among the graduates are nine students receiving the first Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-6 and Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Student Education K-12 degrees offered at Seminole State College. Several of these graduates have already received job offers to enter the workforce immediately.

“The bachelor’s degree programs launched in 2022 as a direct result of the urgent needs expressed by Seminole County Public Schools leadership for an Elementary Education K-6 baccalaureate degree to fill this critical teacher shortage,” said Dr. Georgia Lorenz, president of Seminole State College.

“We welcome the next generation of talented teachers into our classrooms and the Seminole County Public Schools family. We are thankful for the strong partnership and true collaboration between Seminole State College and Seminole County Public Schools. The community as a whole greatly benefits from opportunities for students at every level,” noted Serita D. Beamon, superintendent of Seminole County Public Schools.
