Thank You to Leadership Seminole Class 33!

Nearly every day, a group or an individual comes to our shelter to help our community. Whether it's cooking a dinner, painting a wall, or pressure cleaning the center, these volunteers are critical to our operations.

As we start Volunteer Appreciation Month, we say THANK YOU!

To give you a look at what one group is doing for Rescue Outreach Mission, take a look at the recent efforts of Leadership Seminole Class 33.

For the past four months, teams of volunteers led by Andy Duthie of Wharton Smith have been coming to the shelter nearly every other weekend to help us. Their project included:

  • Pressure washing and painting the exterior of both buildings
  • Updating and repairing the bathrooms in the building housing individual guests
  • General painting
  • Repairing and replacing the bathroom exhaust system
  • Repairing and replacing fixtures
  • Repairing and replacing showers
  • Repairing and replacing toilets
  • Other miscellaneous repairs that came up during the project.
In addition, the group hosted three separate events, raising thousands of dollars. Plus, they worked to receive a grant from Seminole County Public Schools to complete the projects.

Of course, not all volunteers and their groups go to those lengths to help our organization. Sometimes, just helping serve a meal, painting a room, or caring for a flower bed can make a difference in someone's life.

Throughout the month, watch our social media pages as we thank many of the volunteers to inspire you to act, to put together a group to help and to consider how you can help change the lives of families, seniors, and anyone else experiencing homelessness in Seminole County.
