The Orlando Law Group's Jennifer Englert Featured in BizWomen.com

Last week, bizwomen, the national publication of The Business Journals, featured an in-depth interview with Jennifer Englert, the founder of The Orlando Law Group.

The article discussed a wide range of topics, but a key point was how the philosophy surrounding the founding of The Orlando Law Group is still in place today.

From the article:

Jennifer Englert’s moment of clarity career-wise came in an unexpected way: being passed over for partner at the law firm where she was employed at the time, even while still working on maternity leave.

Rather than let that deter her from reaching her career goals, Englert decided the best way to get ahead in the legal profession was to start her own law firm.

“I recognized that, just like me, there were many other women who wanted a work culture that not only honored flexibility in their schedules — depending on other responsibilities at home or with caring for a loved one — but one that also provided the framework for growth opportunities within.”

So she launched The Orlando Law Firm in 2009 with the idea of being a “home” for women lawyers. It was five years before the first man joined the staff, which now includes a diverse group of legal professionals who were drawn to “a business that focuses on employees, their needs and their growth opportunities — not just solely focused on billable hours,” Englert said.

That formula has worked well for The Orlando Law Group, which today is one of Central Florida’s largest women-owned businesses. In the last year alone, the law firm increased overall revenue by 23%, added six new employees and expanded its immigration, litigation and real estate practice.
