Longwood Council Lunch & Learn
Speaker: Eric Burris : WESH 2 First Warning Meteorologist
Only one meteorologist in Central Florida can say they're born, raised, and forecasting for their hometown. WESH 2 First Warning Meteorologist Eric Burris is a Winter Park native who started his weather career while still attending Lake Howell High School. In fact, his experience prompted Seminole County Public Schools to create an internship program so he could get credit for his work.
After Eric graduated high school, he helped cover hurricanes Charley, Frances, Jeanne, and Wilma during the infamous 2004 hurricane season. He was hired by WESH 2's sister station, WPBF-TV in West Palm Beach, in 2006 and moved to WESH in '07.
Weather is the only thing Eric has ever wanted to do, and he's affectionately referred to around the newsroom as the "weather nerd."
Eric attended Seminole State College and UCF and graduated from Mississippi State University. He loves to connect through social media where he holds regular, live conversations on Facebook, and he is constantly tweeting weather data.
Join the Longwood Council for a monthly Lunch & Learn meeting on the 3rd Monday of every month. This is another Seminole County Chamber benefit for you to network and connect with area businesses.
Lunch will be provided.
