Area Council - Longwood 2020-2021

Megan Almasi serves as the Community Relations Manager for Orlando Health. In this role, she has the opportunity to manage all corporate charitable giving, team member volunteerism and non-profit board service for Orlando Health in Seminole County, Florida. Prior to taking the position in February 2018, Megan served as the Senior Director of Programs and Leadership for the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce.

Megan is a graduate of Rollins College with a B.A. in English and an M.B.A.. She has a tremendous passion for community engagement and a desire to inspire others to identify their passions and become active citizens. Megan currently serves on the Leadership Business Advisory Board for the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College and in various volunteer capacities for the Center for Independent Living, Rotary Club of Lake Mary, Leadership Florida and Fleet Farming. Megan is also a graduate of Leadership Winter Park Class XXIII and a member of Leadership Seminole Class XXVIII.

I grew up in Chuluota in East Seminole County and came to work with the bank in 1979.  Citizens Bank of Florida has truly been a home for me and I have loved watching it grow over the years while still maintaining the spirit of family and community banking that makes us so unique.  I have worked in many positions over the years, helping our clients with deposit accounts, banking services and various credit products.  My current  role of Commercial Lender gives me the opportunity to meet the financing needs of both individuals and businesses in the Central Florida area.  I would love to hear from you, please contact me at bfunke@mycbfl.com or 407-491-0818 at any time.

I spent most of my years in the N.E. Ohio region. Growing up in Youngstown, Ohio and after attending college, (Bucknell University), I returned to start a 25 year career in manufacturing management. As a plant manager and V.P of Manufacturing for several multi-national corporations I spent a significant amount of time in Europe and throughout the U.S. establishing new manufacturing sites and involved with the development of several visible projects in the aviation, steel, auto, entertainment and space industries. As a change of pace I started a business consultancy in 2002 focusing upon companies with 500 or less employees in the N.E. Ohio region. As a result of my work in the region, I was recruited by the City of Medina as their Economic Development Director. I have found that my experience on the "other side of the table" has provided both Medina and now Longwood an insight into the business owner or developer needs. 
 

I work with professionals and businesses to create images that represent their personality or brand and make them stand out. I also work with individuals and families to capture moments that matter. Authenticity is the key, and I try to capture the personalities of the people I photograph. 

I earned my degree in photography, back in the days of film and after countless hours spent in a darkroom perfecting my art. My photography involves research, planning, learning, practicing, more learning and more practicing—all of which I invested years of my life in.

My career led me down several paths, including through the travel and special events industries. I was most recently in marketing for the commercial real estate and construction industries, where I was a graphic designer, creative writer, and all-around marketer for over 12 years.
