AdventHealth Opens Meadow Woods ER, Expanding Emergency Care Access In South Orange County

AdventHealth has opened a new emergency room to expand access to timely, lifesaving care for residents of Meadow Woods, Hunters Creek and surrounding communities.

“This new emergency room represents a meaningful commitment to the health and well-being of South Orange County,” said Michael Mewhirter, chief executive officer of AdventHealth Celebration, which oversees the Meadow Woods ER. “By bringing emergency care closer to where people live, we can be present for our neighbors during some of their most urgent moments. This facility allows us to deliver whole-person care that supports not only physical healing, but also peace of mind for patients and families.”

The approximately 13,700-square-foot emergency room, located off South Orange Avenue, features 12 patient rooms, respiratory therapy services, diagnostic imaging including CT scans, X-ray and ultrasound, as well as an on-site full-service laboratory and pharmacy — all designed to support fast, coordinated emergency care close to home.

The emergency room will be staffed by a dedicated clinical team, including board-certified emergency physicians and experienced emergency nurses.

“In emergency medicine, every second counts,” said Dr. Omayra Mansfield, chief medical officer at AdventHealth Celebration and Meadow Woods. “The AdventHealth Meadow Woods ER strengthens our ability to respond quickly and effectively when patients need care most. It’s an important step in meeting the growing health care needs of our Central Florida communities.”

The new emergency room is expected to bring up to 90 jobs to the area, including a range of clinical and support roles.

HuntonBrady served as architect for the project, with Batson-Cook as the general contractor.
