As the 2026 Pathways to Possibilities Career Fair and Internship Expo draws closer, Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) is expanding how local businesses can influence the future workforce. In addition to traditional booth recruiting, registered employers can now sign up to deliver 10-minute "Micro-Presentations" directly to students and their parents.
The Expo, scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Seminole State College (Sanford/Lake Mary Campus), is evolving into a comprehensive professional development hub. These 10-minute sessions are designed to give business leaders a platform to discuss the "Essential Skills" that resumes alone cannot capture.
Leading the Conversation on Employability
Employers are invited to move from the exhibit floor to the stage to share insights on topics such as:
- What makes a candidate stand out in an interview.
- How a high school internship can lead to a six-figure career.
- Professionalism, digital etiquette, and workplace problem-solving.
- How families can support students in navigating early career decisions.
"We want our students to hear directly from the people who will be hiring them," said Allie Hilliard, Coordinator of K-12 Career Education & Readiness Initiatives. "By offering these 10-minute spotlights, we are giving employers a unique opportunity to build their brand and mentor the community simultaneously. It’s not just about a job offer; it’s about a career education."
A Competitive Edge for Registered Businesses
With more than 30 businesses already committed, these presentation slots are expected to fill quickly. Employer registration remains open, but space for both booths and speaking slots is limited. Businesses looking to hire on the spot, offer internships, or provide mentorship are encouraged to secure their participation by April 11, 2026. Register here: https://tinyurl.com/CTE-2026.
