In just a couple of weeks, the Florida Legislature will start its annual session working to pass legislation to make Florida an even better place to live and work.
During the session, thousands of bills will be filed and considered. Billions of dollars will be allocated to all types of services.
In the end, there will be new laws that will affect your business and your life.
The Seminole County Chamber is there to help guide you in this session and help share with legislators our priorities for them to help improve Seminole County and Florida's economy. A delegation of board members from the Seminole County Chamber will be there as part of the Florida Chamber of Commerce's fly-in in February to showcase the priorities of our community.
The Legislative Agenda was worked on through the Issues and Government Affairs Committee. Once they reached a consensus, the executive committee reviewed the priorities and moved it to the full board. That group of community leaders reviewed the agenda and formally approved it last week.
In it, you'll find a wide range of topics, ranging from support for tourism to educational priorities to health care and real estate issues. Please take a few minutes to review and share with your legislator as items they can help pass. You can find the full agenda here.
