Seminole County Commissioner Jay Zembower was re-elected Tuesday by his fellow County Commissioners as Chairman of the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners for 2025.
Chairman Zembower, first elected as Commissioner for District 2 in 2018, previously served as Chairman in 2020 and 2024. He led the County through the pandemic during his first term as Chair and most recently through Hurricane Milton recovery efforts in 2024.
“I am extremely optimistic about Seminole County’s future,” said Chairman Zembower. “I will continue working to protect and enhance what makes Seminole County the most desirable place to live in Florida, ensuring that the quality of life our citizens enjoy today is preserved and strengthened for the future. From our family-friendly neighborhoods to robust infrastructure and an economic environment that fosters growth, we are committed to maintaining Seminole County as a community of choice.”
The election of the Chair is an annual process for the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners, as specified in the County’s Charter. The Board also elected Commissioner Andria Herr as Vice Chair for 2025. Commissioner Herr, who represents District 5, was recently re-elected to the Board in November 2024 and previously served as Vice Chair in both 2023 and 2024.
