What happened at this fairytale celebration?
Patients were treated like royalty from arrival. Through the Starlight Children’s Foundation, children received Disney Princess-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns inspired by beloved stories that remind kids that strength comes in many forms.
Rapunzel then surprised each guest with hugs, plush toys and plenty of fun. They decorated lanterns, colored masterpieces and shared stories, turning hospital hallways into a tower filled with creativity, laughter and possibility.
Why are experiences like this special for families?
For many patients and families, these moments are a reminder of joy and hope on the hardest days. This includes four-year-old Azalea Marbury, who was at the princess celebration and receives frequent care at AdventHealth for Bcell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She’s also part of the Starlight Families community, a program that supports children and their families beyond the hospital setting.
“Azalea loves dressing up like a princess, so with the Starlight hospital gowns she gets to express herself and feel a little more at home,” said Azalea’s parents. “Events like today just brighten her day. She gets to dress up, have fun and meet Rapunzel. She gets to be a normal kid again.”
Through meaningful partnerships and moments that matter, Disney continues to support children’s hospitals across Florida and beyond. Read more about how we deliver joy to families when it's needed the most on the Disney Parks Blog.
